SMART DAC 1100-2000 LR
Mix. Disperse. Grind. Pulverize.

The SMART DAC LR series bridges the gap between lab scale and pilot/production scale SpeedMixer equipment.  The container volume (3.8L), weight capacity (up to 2kg), and mixing geometry (extremely large radius of rotation) are similar to our production scale (3kg – 10kg) equipment.  However, the machine can still be rolled through a standard door and runs on standard 120V/230V power.

Additionally, this new class of DAC equipment delivers the largest advancement in mixing power, process monitoring & control, and data collection since the previous generation was launched in 2010.  The fully customizable SMART DAC platform is the foundation of the most versatile and capable DAC mixing equipment to date.  With options like live temperature monitoring & control (with active cooling), independent control of main rotation/counterrotation, and a manufacturing or research optimized interface, it is already answering many of the most common requests from industry.  The platform was also designed with the future in mind.  The machine’s software and onboard PLC allow easy connection and integration of nearly any sensor imaginable as well as IOT compatibility.

Powerful Bladeless Mixing

Dual Asymmetrical Centrifugal (DAC) mixing - A closed disposable container is rotated around a primary axis. The container is simultaneously counterrotated around on its own Y axis, creating a powerful mixing vortex. This result is fast, homogeneous, repeatable mixing and bubble removal.

Intuitive customizable user interface

The machine’s touchscreen interface makes it easy to create programs and customize the display to show the most relevant information about the mixing process. This ensures that precisely optimized mixing and degassing methods can be accurately and repeatably reproduced. With minimal training, any operator can achieve exactly the same results. The optional software packages allow remote control of the equipment from any PC, tablet, or smartphone as well as full documentation of all mixing activities for traceability purposes.

Stroboscopic Process Monitoring

The integrated LED light can be set to remain on, off, or to flash at the same frequency as the main RPM and function as a stroboscope. When the light is used as a stroboscope, it gives the illusion that the cup is standing still, and mixing/degassing progress can be monitored live through the viewing window. The visual feedback can help the operator quickly optimize a process by seeing how much speed is required to move the material, when the material is fully mixed, and exactly when the material is fully degassed.

Case Study

Discovering Hauschild SpeedMixer® Technology:

Faced with the prospect of increasing the capacity of their vacuum oven array, the facility’s team stumbled upon Hauschild SpeedMixer® technology. This discovery marked a turning point in their production efficiency. The Hauschild equipment offered the potential to drastically reduce the solvent purging process time from several days to less than 30 minutes, a remarkable advancement compared to their previous methods.

Benefits Realized:

The implementation of Hauschild SpeedMixer® technology brought a range of benefits:

Reduced Processing Time: The SpeedMixer® technology transformed the solvent purging process, significantly reducing processing time. This accelerated the overall production cycle, allowing the facility to meet their production schedule and demands promptly.

Cost Efficiency: Unlike the costly vacuum ovens that were previously considered for capacity expansion, the Hauschild equipment was a cost-effective solution. Its affordability made it a compelling alternative, enabling the facility to allocate resources more efficiently.

Enhanced Capacity: The Smart DAC LR series of SpeedMixer® equipment offered substantial throughput capacity, providing the facility with the ability to process large volumes of material efficiently. This capacity allowed for scalability and even accommodated the facility’s growth projections.

Versatility: The SpeedMixer® technology’s versatility was an unexpected bonus. It not only excelled in solvent purging but also proved adept at blending vape oil, infusing flower with distillate, and production of budder/badder/flan etc., enhancing the quality and diversity of the facility’s product lines.

Reliability and Durability: The SpeedMixer® equipment demonstrated reliability and durability, with a track record of lasting decades with minimal maintenance. This aspect ensured consistent operations with very minimal risk downtime, a critical factor for maintaining high production throughput.

The struggle to streamline their solvent purging process came to a successful resolution with the adoption of Hauschild SpeedMixer® technology. This revolutionary equipment brought about substantial benefits, including reduced processing time, cost efficiency, reliability, scalability, and versatility. By implementing the Smart DAC LR series, the facility was able to efficiently process large volumes of material, meet their production schedule, and even diversify their premium product lines. Hauschild SpeedMixer® technology emerged as the ideal solution, catapulting the facility’s production efficiency and paving the way for continued growth and innovation.

Secondary features & benefits – value

Temperature control package

The Temperature Control package for the Hauschild SpeedMixer® SMART DAC series provides a number of new and novel capabilities. The machine uses a non-contact sensor to provide Live Temperature Monitoring.  The live temperature data can be used by the SMART software to provide Temperature Control by varying process parameters accordingly.  This includes the option to apply Active Cooling directly to the mixing vessel.

Variable Counterrotation Package

Until recently, no high-power DAC mixer on the market offered independent control of the main rotation and counter rotation of the mixing vessel. The most powerful DAC mixer ever offered is now also available with a digitally programmable Variable Counterrotation Ratio.  This gives the user the option to favor mixing or Dearing/degassing and gives significantly more control over the temperature of the material.
